What we collect
Your entries, account details, and basic usage data. Nothing more.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name if you choose to set one, and authentication data. When you use Soouls, we store the entries you write, record, or draw, along with metadata like timestamps and which capture method you used.
- • Account info: email, display name, password hash.
- • Content: text entries, voice recordings, images, doodles.
- • Usage data: feature interactions, collected in aggregate.
- • Device info: OS and app version for support.
How we use it
Strictly to power your features. We never sell your data.
We use your account information to operate your account and communicate with you. We use your content strictly to power the features you've asked for: displaying your Spatial Canvas, generating your Sunday Review, and surfacing Thought Clusters.
We use aggregate, de-identified usage data to understand which features are helpful — without us ever reading what was said in any specific recording.
Encryption & storage
Entries are encrypted at rest and in transit. Even we can't browse your journal.
All entries are encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption at rest, and TLS 1.3 in transit. Access to production data is restricted to a small number of engineers under audit-logged, time-boxed access specifically for debugging reported issues — never for browsing.
AI & insight processing
Your entries are never used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
Sunday Review, Thought Clusters, and Emotional Insights are generated by processing your entries through language models to produce output shown only to you. This processing happens within our infrastructure, and the output is never retained by any underlying model provider.
Your rights & controls
Export or permanently delete your data at any time.
From Settings, you can export a full copy of your entries in an open format, and request permanent deletion of your account. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days, including removal from backups.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Retention & deletion
Downgrading a paid plan keeps your entries intact.
We retain your content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, content is removed from active systems within 30 days and backups within 90 days. If you downgrade, your existing entries remain fully intact and exportable.
Children's privacy
Soouls is not directed at children under 16.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll notify you of material changes before they take effect.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email and display a notice in the app. Continued use of Soouls constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
